Privacy Policy

1. Information handled by the app

Depending on the features you use, Lumen Grove may handle:

• Your optional name, journaling goal, appearance choices, and reminder preferences.
• Journal text, drafts, templates, favorites, collections, custom tags, moods, energy and stress ratings.
• Habit names, schedules, goals, reminders, completion history, journey progress, and daily check-ins.
• Voice recordings, transcripts, and documents you choose to attach to an entry.
• Settings such as language, theme, font, biometric lock, and accessibility preferences.

The developer does not receive this content through Lumen Grove. The app does not create a Lumen Grove account and does not collect advertising identifiers, contacts, precise location, payment details, or browsing history.

2. How information is used

The app uses information you provide only to deliver features you request, including:

• Saving, searching, editing, organizing, and exporting reflections.
• Tracking habits, calculating streaks and trends, and showing private insights.
• Scheduling reminders and updating home-screen widgets.
• Creating optional on-device prompts, summaries, and gentle next-step suggestions.
• Protecting the app with Android biometric authentication when you enable it.

Lumen Grove does not sell personal information and does not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.

3. Permissions and device features

Microphone

Requested only when you choose to record a voice note. Recordings remain in app-private storage.

Notifications

Used only for journaling and habit reminders you enable. You can change or disable them at any time.

Device restart and time changes

Used to restore your chosen reminder schedule after a restart, app update, or clock change.

Biometrics

Authentication is performed by Android. Lumen Grove receives only the success or failure result, not biometric data.

Speech recognition

Dictation requests offline recognition when available. The installed Android speech service controls whether recognition is local or uses its provider's service and privacy terms.

4. On-device reflection assistant

On compatible devices, you may opt into a reflection assistant powered by Gemini Nano through Android AICore. Reflection input and generated output are processed locally on the device. If the model is unavailable, Lumen Grove can use its own local, rules-based guidance instead.

Android may download or update the shared on-device model. Google may process limited service metrics associated with the ML Kit GenAI service under its applicable terms. Generated observations are optional, may be inaccurate, and are not medical, legal, financial, or professional advice.

5. Backups, exports, and sharing

Automatic Android cloud backup and device transfer are disabled for Lumen Grove's private data. If you create or link a portable backup, the app encrypts its supported contents on your device before writing the file to Google Drive or another document provider you select. From version 1.10, new backups include readable original recordings and attachments within the displayed size limits. Older data-only backups do not include those files. Restored media is encrypted using the new installation's device key. Your chosen provider handles the encrypted file under its own terms.

When you export a PDF or text file, attach a document, or use an Android share sheet, you direct the transfer. The receiving app, person, or storage provider may retain and process that copy under its own privacy practices. Home-screen widget details may be visible while your phone is locked, depending on your Android settings and the widget you choose.

6. Security

Core app data is encrypted in app-private storage with AES-256-GCM and a key held by Android Keystore. Optional portable backups are protected with password-based encryption before transfer. Sensitive app screens block screenshots, and the optional biometric lock uses Android's secure authentication interface. No security measure can guarantee absolute protection, so keep your device, backup password, and Android software secure.

7. Retention and deletion

Local information remains on your device until you delete individual content, clear Lumen Grove's app data, or uninstall the app. The app does not maintain a server-side account or server copy for the developer to delete. Files you exported, shared, or backed up must be deleted separately from the receiving app or storage provider. Disconnecting a linked backup stops future updates but does not delete the encrypted backup file from its provider.

8. Age requirements

Lumen Grove is not directed to children and is intended for people aged 18 or older. The optional Gemini Nano feature is not offered for use by anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Lumen Grove's features or legal obligations change. The date at the top of this page will identify the latest version. Material changes will be communicated in the app or store listing when appropriate.
